The Hunyadi Castle, also known as Corvins’ Castle or Hunedoara Castle is a Gothic-Renaissance castle in Hunedoara, in the region of Transylvania, Romania and after visiting it, I can say that is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved castle from Romania.
The long lost sophomore album by Eleven Pond is finally out on Dark Entries. The band formed during the mid-80s in Rochester, NY, while attending art school, and were brought together by their shared love of 4AD and Factory Records. They released their debut LP “Bas Relief” in 1986, reisued in 2009. Before breaking up in October 1987, the band recorded eight songs that would sit in abandoned storage containers for over 25 years.
On a Sunday afternoon, coming back from a lovely weekend to Garana and the Danube, we made a quick stop to Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, located in the Hunedoara county, in the Samizegetusa village. We first thought that there’s nothing too much to see, but actually the site is very well-preserved and offers clear information about what how life was about 2000 years ago.
Somewhere 4 kilometers from Hateg, Hunedoara district, in the Silviut forest, there is one of the few buffalo reservations in Romania and in Europe as well. This type of animal, that in medieval times used to dominate the European woods, is on the edge of extinction.
Going from a Jazz Festival in Gărâna to some relaxing days at the Danube, down to Dubova and Eşelniţa we had the chance to pass by one of the most beautiful cascade falls I have yet to see.
