[Greece] Going on a island in winter : Aegina
Part of our trip to Athens at the beginning of the year was also a one day trip to the Aegina island. Just a one hour distance by boat, it’s a perfect destination if you want to see a more picturesque part of Greece, not very far from Athens.
For February, there is not much to actually do once getting there but walk around and enjoy the view.
The weather was actually very good for that day, sunny enough to allow us to walk on the beach and relax.
During summer, Aegina island is also a good destination for going to the beach and swimming, if you want to avoid the very crowded beaches in Athens. But for us, it was just walking around and having lunch in one of the restaurants that came in our way. Of course some delicious fish and sea food dishes.
To get there, you can go to the Piraeus port and take any boat that leaves the soonest. A return trip is around 30 EUR/ person.
