When we were telling people around us that we planned a trip to Georgia (the country) for May this year, most of the questions we got were: “Where is that on the map?” and “Why would you even consider going there for a vacation?”
-21°C today, a very cold January day that keeps me from wanting to go out too much and got me thinking about summer and warm days again. A perfect opportunity to have a look at what new places we discovered last year. So for all of you out there in search of some vacation plans, here’s a list of our 2018 destinations in Europe.
We got to Belgrade on a winter Thursday night, after some 6 hours drive from Sibiu, with not too many expectation, but still with a good feeling that the trip wouldn’t disappoint us. We found a city full of life, culture and charm, vibrating from all its joints.
Chirpãr was our next stop during our weekend road trip in the beautiful Saxon villages around Sibiu. Travelling from one village to another was a true pleasure, as spring was on its way, everything was turning green, the landscape was something that filled us with so much positive energy.
Human beings seem to have a weakness for castles, fortresses or citadels build on high peaks, from where they can guard and frighten us at the same time. We are not different, so it was time for us to go up to the Deva Fortress and see what it has to offer.
Here we are, at the end of another great year for us… It’s the holidays, the baby is already sleeping and the glass of wine that I’m drinking, relaxed on the couch, listening to the IFM Top X, made me decide to make a review of all the places that we managed to see this year.
