Here we are, at the end of another great year for us… It’s the holidays, the baby is already sleeping and the glass of wine that I’m drinking, relaxed on the couch, listening to the IFM Top X, made me decide to make a review of all the places that we managed to see this year.
Slane is the village where we moved to after visiting Dublin, to a friend’s beautiful house, in a very quiet area, with green grass and cows and sheep wondering around, with a sunny weather, good enough to put you into that ‘It’s almost summer and I can only think about vacations’ mood.
Dublin was initially planned for 5 days, but then Carrick-A-Rede, Giant’s Causeway and a few other cool places around Ireland and Northern Ireland came up and we just couldn’t resist the temptation of not going out of the city and enjoy a beautiful, warm and sunny spring end on the island.
Visiting The Newgrange and Knowth Museum (known as Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site) was definitely not planned when we first set foot in the plane from Bucharest to Dublin, but I guess that for some trips we make, it’s good to be spontaneous and accept the invitation to do something else than what you were initially thinking of doing while in Ireland.
What seemed in the first place to be just another city break for us, turned out to be something more than that. We left home planning to stay in Dublin for 5 days and explore the city as much as we could. But meeting some friends who live in Ireland made us change our plans and decide to go outside of Dublin and explore the country a bit more. So for one day we took a nice road trip to Northern Ireland to check out the Giants Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.
