12 Years a Slave, based on the 1853 autobiography of Solomon Northup, tells the violently tragic, but ultimately redemptive, tale of a free black man kidnapped and forced to be a slave in the pre-Civil War Era in America.

[Books] The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams
Five novels in one OUTRAGEOUS volume. The best description for this absolutely incredible set of novels. Douglas Adams has just become my favorite writer and The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy my number one favorite book for this year, at least.

[Documentary] GasLand
Gasland is a 2010 American documentary written and directed by Josh Fox. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2011, the film focuses on communities in the United States impacted by natural gas drilling and, specifically, a method of horizontal drilling into shale formations known as slickwater fracking.

‘The invisible man’ was Ralph Ellison’s only book published while alive, a book that addresses many of the intellectual and social issues that African-Americans faced in the twentieth century. It’s a fictional book, but it has also a historical importance .

[Romania] The Valea Cetății Cave
We visited the Valea Cetatii Cave when we went to the Rasnov Citadel and the Rasnov Fortified Church. It’s a cave that was only opened for visitors in 2011, but that was discovered about 60 years ago.
